Frequently Asked Questions
Who is your target demographic?
My passion is helping small to medium size ministries or nonprofit organizations who lack the manpower, skills, or resources to set up and maintain an effective web presence.
What do you charge for your services?
I cannot offer a single rate as the needs of each client can differ greatly. What I can say is that I do this as a ministry, not as a for-profit endeavor. Cost is set to help with inevitable expenses related to building, hosting and maintaining a website. We will discuss your needs and determine the most reasonable price.
What is the process for building a new website?
The process begins with a consultation where we discuss your specific needs and challenges. Together, we’ll develop a concept and create a design that captures your vision. Throughout the development phase, we’ll conduct regular reviews to ensure the website evolves exactly as you envision. Once you’re satisfied with the results, I’ll handle the official launch of your new website, getting your digital presence up and running.
How long does it take to build a website?
The timeline for your website development varies based on the complexity and specific requirements of your project. Simple websites can be completed in around 2-4 weeks, while more feature-rich or custom solutions may require additional time. Following our initial consultation, I’ll provide you with a personalized timeline estimate tailored specifically to your project’s scope and needs.
Can I update the website myself after it’s built?
Yes! I am passionate about empowering ministries, not binding their hands. I build websites that can be self-managed after they are built, and I can provide any applicable training to facilitate this.
This does not, however, mean that I am out of reach when needs arise. When we engage in a partnership, we will work together to decide the level of support that you feel that you need.
Do you offer ongoing support and maintenance?
Yes. When we partner together, I will support your website needs. We will work together to decide the level of support that you feel that you need.
For all websites, unless your situation calls for a unique setup, I will take care of all of the technical maintenance to maintain the functionality and security of your website.
Will my website be mobile-friendly?
Absolutely! Today’s users access websites from mobile devices roughly 80% of the time, making mobile optimization essential. While your website will function flawlessly on traditional desktop browsers, I place special emphasis on creating the mobile experience. Your site will be fully responsive, ensuring content displays beautifully and functions intuitively across all devices—from smartphones to tablets to desktop computers.
Do I need to provide the content and images?
Your involvement with content and imagery depends on your specific needs and preferences. For most websites, I strongly recommend providing your own photographs to authentically capture your community’s unique atmosphere and activities. This personal touch helps visitors connect with your actual ministry rather than seeing generic representations. For supplemental visual needs, I can source high-quality stock imagery that complements your provided content, ensuring a cohesive and professional appearance throughout your site.
Can you redesign my existing website?
Yes, in our consultation we will take a look at your current website, talk about what you’re looking for moving forward, and develop a plan on how to move forward.
Will my website be secure?
Yes! Your website will be fully secured with SSL encryption, which is the industry standard for modern websites. We will implement the latest SSL technology to ensure that all visitor interactions with your site remain private and protected. This security measure gives your visitors complete confidence when browsing your website and sharing any information, creating a trustworthy online experience for everyone.
What if I already have a domain name and hosting?
No problem! During our consultation, we’ll discuss your existing resources, including your domain name and hosting setup. We’ll review how you’re currently using these assets and determine the most effective way to incorporate them into your new website plan, or if any changes would be advantageous.
Do you offer disaster recovery options?
Absolutely! I understand that technology isn’t infallible. Servers crash, hosting providers experience downtime, and unexpected issues can arise. For all sites that I host, I perform automatic daily backups, allowing me to restore your website to any point within the previous 30 days. While it’s exceptionally unlikely that a full restoration would become necessary, I provide this extra layer of protection for your peace of mind.
Will I be locked into a contract?
There is no lock-in contract for my services. I believe that organizations should be able to make whatever changes they need at any time, and should not be locked into something if their needs require them to move elsewhere.
Before we begin working together, I’ll simply ask you to agree to some basic terms of service that outline our working relationship.
Do you offer traffic analytics?
I don’t personally provide analytics tools, but I can seamlessly integrate any analytics provider of your choice into your website. There are several excellent options available, and I’d be happy to discuss these with you and help you select the right solution for your organization’s needs.
Do you add your branding to any site that you create?
I do not require any branding to be placed on websites that I create. I want your website to be solely yours, and nothing to detract from that. If you feel so inclined to include a branding note in the footer of your site, I would be honored. However, I will never require this.
Can you help with SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?
Yes! SEO is a very important and often overlooked aspect of a website. You want people who are searching for you to find you as easily as possible. I will work with you to make sure that we implement the most appropriate and practical SEO strategy.
